Mrs Carol Pattison

I have lived in Lower Dean for the past ten years, with my children going to the local schools.

In that time, I have been a parent helper at Grasshoppers Playgroup, Eileen Wade Lower School and a school governor at Margaret Beaufort Middle School, as well as a member of the schools' PTAs.  I have been a Riseley Scouts committee member.  I have also helped organise events such as the Queen's Jubilee 'garden party' held at Dalton Hall, as well as a previous one in Lower Dean itself.  I am currently the treasurer for the Dean and Shelton Allotments Association.  As a family we try to be involved in as many local events as possible.

With limited public services I feel it is vitally important to help the local community stay a community, helping each other wherever possible and helping look after our local environment as much as we can, whilst helping try to discourage the 'us and 'them' culture and resulting isolation that can sometimes pervade small communities.  I would really like to see more local community events and would be very happy to assist in this endeavour.

Of course, I would also like to help in bringing high-speed broadband to Dean and Shelton as soon as possible!

Carol Pattison,
